Learn about azures.

The artfully modified hole beneath a stone is called an Azure. A hole is usually drilled thru a piece of jewellery to allow light, facilitate cleaning, and to lighten. While in a lot of cases, a round hole is perfectly fine, azuring a piece of jewellery, an area seldom seen by anyone but the wearer, is a sign of quality and attention to detail that only adds value to any precious creation. An Azure is created by putting a fine sawblade in each hole and carefully cutting out the design. This is a very time consuming and exacting process that will add value.
